Qualitätsmerkmale von Alpakawolle: Feinheit, Dichte und natürliche Farben

How do you recognize good wool?

What you should pay attention to with wool

Wool impresses with its softness and suppleness – it should feel gentle and not scratchy. But not all wool is the same. The right composition makes all the difference when it comes to comfort and quality.

Natural fibers for the highest quality

When purchasing a wool sweater, it's worth looking for natural materials . Fiber blends with silk or fine wools like mohair can further enhance the softness and refine the feel. Silk not only makes wool more supple but also gives it a natural shine.

Be careful with polyester and synthetic fibers

Synthetic blends like polyester may initially appear soft, but quickly lose their natural feel. After repeated wear, the fabric often feels scratchy and takes on a low-quality sheen —a look anything but high-quality.

Yes, there are modern polyester fabrics that look similar to wool and may have a certain quality. But when they start to glitter or shimmer unnaturally, it simply doesn't look classy anymore. If you choose polyester, make sure it's recycled —otherwise, you're only contributing to the production of even more plastic.
